a. Note:   oted as a daylaborer and his first marriage was to Catharina Strassburger of Gamshurst. Between 1747-1759, they had 7 children together; 1 son and 6 daughters. His first wife Catharina Strassburger passed away 3 months after the birth of the last daughter in 1760. About two years later, Arborgast married Anna Burst in 1762 and they had 2 boys together. But Anna Burst passed away about a year later after the birth of the second child in 1766. Twenty months later, Arborgast married Anna Maria Engel, his third wife in 1767, but this marriage had no children, because the marriage only lasted 2 years with Anna Maria passed away in 1770. Finally, 2 years later, Arborgast married Christina Mittenmüller in 1772. This marriage failed to produce any children. Arborgast died in a mysterious manner. The OFB on page 71, family #396 explains in German that "Arborgast Braun of Gamshrust suffocated in the cold winter night covered by snow. Three days later his corpse was located in the field known as "Lambert" and buried the same day in Grossweier.
