Note: Moved to Los Angeles, California after World War II and became a milling machine operator for US Steel. After retirering from US Steel in the 1960's returned to teaching high school and substitute teaching. Cleora Smither took the train from Louisville, Kentucky after he located living quarters and he met her at Union Station in Los Angeles and they immediately went to the Church of the Open Door in downtown Los Angeles and got married after her arrival.
