a. Note:   I have not found any records on Catherine Stout other than her marriage to Joseph Stewart. I have found a "Stout" family listed in the 1861 Censusof Lochaber, Lower Canada. It lists the following: Lachlan Stout aged 38, farmer, born in Scotland, wife Flora, aged 32, born Canada East, daughterKate Stout, aged 6, Canada East, son Thomas Stout,aged 4, Canada East, andanother child whose name I can't make out , aged 1, Canada East. Following this family are John Stout, Farmer, born in Scotland, aged 31and his wife Betsy also born in Scotland aged 25. In the Marriages de Protestants, by Blondin, Catherine's parents arelisted as John Stout and Sarah McCarthy. I suspect the above mentioned Stoutscould be aunts and uncles of Catherine. 1881 Census of Aylwin, lists Catherine as 29 years old. It lists herorigin as Irish but I think this is incorrect.
