Note:   Census of Quebec, 1861, c1304 Mary Stanley, Upper Canada (birthplace), Church of Scotland, age:24 There is a discrepency between the date of birth listed in our own family records and those indicated on the census. My hunch regarding MaryStanley is that the census is correct. 1891 Census lists Mary as being 55 years old. This confirms her birthyear as 1836. Her parents are listed as being born in Ireland. Death and burial information from the notes of Kevin Draper. The 1851 census of Fitzroy Township, Carleton County, Mary is listed as"Maria Stanley" aged 17. Her parents are listed as Samuel and Ellen Stanley.Ellen Stanley is probably not Mary's mother as her age is listed as 30, whichwould make her 13 when Mary was born. I am not positive beyond doubt thatthis is "my" Mary Stanley. Mary and John Draper have children which carry similar names to the family in this census. Names in common are: Samuel, Ellen,James, William, Catherine, and Susan.
