Notes
a. Note:   Buried in Non-Conformist grounds at Eye Cemetery. His birth certificate does not list Arthur's middle name "Thomas". He is listed as being born at the parish of Monk Soham. In the 1891 census of Hoxne, Arthur is listed as being 20, single, and agricultural laborer, born at Monk Soham, and living with his parents at 113 Low Road, Hoxne. Letter to Nina Knights from Alice Watson: "Uncle Arthur (Your Arthur's father) worked as a foreman in charge on a farm, his wife Lizzie was a Wingfield and her family lived on the oposite side to us on Heckfield Green, Hoxne near Eye. They had seven children, Arthur was the eldest and Gladys the youngest." It seems that Arthur Thomas was named after his great-uncle Thomas and Thomas' son Arthur. In the 1861 census of Eye, Thomas Knights is listed as living on Lambseth Street. He is 37 and son Arthur is 11 months. This is the first mention of an 'Arthur' in the Knights family. I suspect Arthur Thomas' father Henry was close to his uncle Thomas. In 1884 Henry's mother Ann, widow of the elder Henry, died living on Lambseth Street, I suspect at her brother-in-law Thomas' house. Henry Jr. also named his eldest son Frederick which was an elder son of Thomas'.
