Notes
a. Note:   1933 - Harold Dean Ford is born to Hershell and Ruby Likens Ford on August 25, 1933. 1953 - He was forced to married Barbara Markham in Franklin Indiana. He was 23 and she was underage when she found that she was pregnant. She said he was the father and it was either marry her or go to jail. So the marriage was trouble from the beginning. 1954 - Child Ricky Dean Ford is born. 1957 - Child Dallas Pat is born on February 5, 1957 in Franklin TN. 1958 - 1959 - Harold spends 2 years in the Franklin jail for domestic violence. He had told Mom that he came home one evening and Pat had a high fever and Barbara was feeding him a sour bottle and when he seen this he must have just snapped. Daddy wasn't a violent man that I remember until he had been drinking. I don't know if this was the case here. 1960 - Harold meets Mamie Ruth Thompson while at the Lafayette Cinema watching ?? 1961 - Harold marries Mamie Ruth Thompson on May 6, 1961 in Macon County TN. 1962 - Child Tammy Dean is born on December 28, 1962 in Carthage TN. 1964 - Child Jimmy Harold is born and dies on November 20, 1964 in Carthage TN. 1965 - We moved to a house on Brown's Lane in the Webbtown community in Lafayette. 1966 - Child Billy Wayne is born on January 3, 1966 in Hartsville TN. 1975 - Child Bryan Dewayn is born on November 8, 1975. 1976 - We moved to a house on the Union Camp Rd. at the top of what is known as Gregory hill. 1977 - Harold has a massive heart attack. He had been cutting wood most of the day. There was snow on the ground and it was cold. He stopped at a little country store named Bessie White's grocery. He was seen colapsed in the truck when an ambulance was called. He was rushed to St. Thomas hospital in Nashville TN to undergo surgery. He had 4 blockages and the front of his heart was damaged. Once he was ready to go home, his doctor told him that if he didn't stop drinking and smoking he would not live very long. As far as I know he never smoked again, and didn't dring for several years. He did start drinking on a seldomly in the early 1990's but not to the point of early years. The docotors told daddy that he would not be able to work any longer. He went back to work within 6 months. 1978 - Harold looses his right eye to cancer. After that time he wore a glass eye. Daddy worked odd jobs. He could do anything when it came time to construction. He had customers that wouldn't allow anyone but him paint the inside of their house. Most of this time he had regular customers that would keep him busu through the Spring, Summer and Fall. When daddy wasn't drinking he was a gentle man. He loved the elderly and young children. It is sad that he spent so much of his life drinking. This was the pattern of all of his family. I think the pattern was broken with out generation, as we none drink. He never complained. The day of his heart attach he thought he was having indigestion when he was actually have light heart attacks all day.
