Note: s Elisha [name is very dificult to read and may be incorrect] born Dec 1849, age 50. He was a farmer who owned his land farm schedule 190, he and his parents were born in Kentucky, he could read and write; his wife was Sarah A. Collins she was born in March [year unreadable] but states she is 41, Sarah and her parents were born in Tennessee, she can not read or write; Daughter Letha is listed, born Aug 1882 age 17, Letha only attended school 3 months out of the year and she could not read or write; Son William born Nov 1885, age 14, he attended school for 4 months and could not read or write and Daughter Crissie born May 1888, age 12, she attended school 4 months and could not read or write. It lists as an occupation for all three children Farm Labor.
Dad said his grandma's name was Letha and she had a twin sister named Eliza. They also had a sister named Patsy. Pasty married a Bently and had Claudia, Claudia married a Campbell and had Helen, Helen Married a Latimer.
Per Claudia, his real name was McGuire. That he was given to the Collins family and took on their name. She doesn't think the McGuire family was from the area where he grew up. Claudia remembers that their children were named: Leetha, Liza, Lizzy, Patsy, and Ben. Claudia said that he identified as irish.
