Note: s her birth place was Virginia. According to her son James, his mother was raised in Kentucky, and her family was in the Kentucky area. They were coal miners and moved frequently. Being so close to the Virginia line there were many times that they lived in Virginia.
1920 census states that Alzenia was the only child born in Virginia.
