VA at time of enlistment and in 1797 moved to KY and applied 8 Feb 1830 Casey County, KY and was living on Green river in said county and was still there in 1834, soldiers marriage bond was signed by one John Jones and Osbon S. Coffey and a request that license be granted was made by Mathew and Lucy Nightingale, widow applied 8 Apr 1844 Casey County, KY aged 83, their oldest child Jesse who was born 26 May 1784 was living in Casey county, KY and in 1834 was referred to as colonel Jesse Coffey and was a state senator and in 1844 he lived in Middleburg, KY, in 1830 Richard Coffey and an Osbon Coffey were mentioned but their relationship to soldier was not stated, in 1827 Mathew and Sarah Nightingale were witnesses in Casey County, KY.
