Note: Joy Kelley came to Lancaster, California about 1913 he was not on the 1910 Lancaster census. After he graduated from High School he joined the U.S. Marines December 1917 where he was sent to Mare Island, Vallejo, California. June 1918 he was transferred to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. By July 1919 he returned to Lancaster. He worked for a department store and lumber yard before he was hired by Standard Oil Company January 27, 1920 for whom he worked until ill health forced his retirement. In 1922 he married Edith Louisa Reynolds and they had one son and daughter Evelyn who is writing from recollection and other sources. In 1923 Joy and Edith Kelley moved to Ludlow, California., eventually to Mojave, California in 1934. Edith Kelley lived there until her death in 1980, Joy Kelley proceeded her in death in 1959
