a. Note:   Ephrain's will probated in Randolph Co., Illinois. However he died in 1794 and the family didnt move to Illinois until ca 1801, so it was probably probated in Illinois by his sons. It establishes Jacob as a son...there are records that exist that show an Ephraim Bilderback in the Colonial wars of Maryland through 1776. The Identity of the father of Ephraim Bilderback, Sr. has not been proven but speculation is that he was Peter Bilderback. Much additional information about the Bilderback family, specifically about Thomas Bilderback and Margaret Preston was provided by Wanda Bilderback Kollmorgen.
