  In the 1930 U.S. Census, Maurice (as "Morris" Goodrich) lived with his 83-year-old widowed uncle, John Bell, in Spring Creek, Warren County, PA. He worked as a fireman on a lake steamer. Maurice's sister, Evelyn Lincoln, and her five children, also lived in the Bell household. Maurice had been married 20 years, according to the census, but his wife did not live in the Bell household (nor was his sister Evelyn's husband of 20 years, William Lincoln, in the Bell household).
