Note:   Served with the VA 64th Infantry Regiment in the Civil War Probably born in 1830 For many years it has been said that the parents of James Valentine are Valentine Boatright and Polly Cockes. Through carefull consideration after census research, I believe that James Valentine's parents are Meadow and Mary Boatright. I know the 1850 census lists Meadow and Mary's son as James B, but the birth year fits and the family's reuse of names makes sense. I believe the listing of James B instead of James V was human error(as we know is common).
