Note:   [paternal.FTW] [Broderbund WFT Vol. 5, Ed. 1, Tree #3249, Date of Import: Jan 15, 2003] Blount was married at least 3 times, possibly more, and had at least 2 other children, whose mothers are not known at this time. His marriage to Dora Dufer was by P.N. Neal, and his marriage to Bettie Merrill was by William Kenner. It appears that Mary Elizabeth was wife #1, (she was 16, he was 20), Dora Dufer was wife #2, and Bettie Merrill was wife #3. There is evidence that he was in Texas when he met Dora. She had a daughter, Ida at the time of their marriage. The 1900 Census lists Hiram B. Shelly, 37, blacksmith, married 2 years to Dora, 23, born in Texas, and lists the following household members at this time: ROSA T. (dau.) 14, born Oct. 1885 JOHN F. (son) 13, born Dec. 1886 JACOB F. (son) 12, born 1887 ROBERT (son) 1, born July 1898 IDA M. (step-dau) 9, born Dec. 1891. Blount is buried at Sarah Grove Cemetery. (Tammy Theilen 12/2003) I have found that Jacob F is listed in a few places as Fred Jacob.
