Hart, j_hart@pipeline.com. Filed at: 2002-3-6. John, his mother, and his siblings traveled to Tyler County, West Virginia in 1828. John came to what is now Wetzel County in 1835 and was granted 170 acres of land on the North and South sided of Little Fishing Creek, Tyler County, by the State of (West) Virginia in 1842. Mother Mary's sister, Penelope Currier was living in the household of John C Hart in the years 1840-1870 according to census data. She probably died between 1870-1880 as she was 88 years of age in 1870, which was the last census which listed her. John C. and Mary Hart were the parents of six known children.
