a. Note:   Terre Haute, IN, it states: In the court records of Orange County, NC, 1776, there is a mention ofGeorge Hightower in the 7th Militia. On 7 February 1777, GeorgeHightower enliisted in the Third South Carolina Regiment. He wastaken prisoner, 9 January 1779; George was 46 years old. In 1787George and Susannah sold their land on the south side of Hounds Creekand then moved to Campbell County, Virginia.
