 They landed in New York and came to Bureau County, probably b ecause Fritz's brother , John was living here at that time. They made their home in the vicinity of Walnut and Normandy. Fritz and Maria had two more children, Fred Louis born in 1884 and Bertha born in 1887. Maria passed away in 1887 probably due to complications following childbirth. She left three children, William age 12. Fred Louis age three and Bertha was an infant.
 Bertha passed away when whe was 18 years old while visiting at the home of John Bosenieler in Sterling, Illinois. Her cause of death was Brights Disease. She was buried beside her mother in the Walnut Cemetery.
 Fritz remarried on the 24 of October 1890 to Sophia Maria Menck and they had four children, all of the lived in the Sterling, Illinois area.
 As far as we know Fritz was a farmer in the U.S., in Germany he was listed as a brick layer or someone who works with masonry.
 Fritz died in 1909 and is buried in the I.O.O.F. cemetery along with his second wife Sophia and infant son Charles. Sophia died in ?
 Fritz took the name of Fred Ohde when he came to the United States, and took the Oath of allegiance on the fifth day of march 1890 in Burear County.
