a. Note:   son Asbury born 1862 HARRY F. BELL Harry F. Bell, one of Tyrone's most prominent citizens, died at his home, 214 West Tenth street, Tyrone, early yesterday morning following a stroke of apoplexy. Mr. Bell had been in excellent health and on Saturday spent the greater part of the evening at the Elks' home on Logan avenue with friends enjoying a radio concert. He went home and early in the morning he suffered a stroke of apoplexy and passed away without regaining consciousness. Mr. Bell was a son of the late Major and Mrs. F. M. Bell, and was born near Tyrone on November 24, 1857. He spent his entire life in this community. In 1878 he was united in marriage with Miss Jane McClellan who, with one daughter, Mrs. James Smart, of Patterson, N. J., survive. He is also survived by three sisters. Mrs. Frank Hambright, Miss Elsie and Miss Anna, all of Tyrone. When a young man, Mr. Bell entered the train service of the Pennsylvania Railroad company and was steadily promoted until made a passenger conductor, from which position he was retired on December 1, 1927, after nearly 50 years of continuous service. He was a past exalted ruler of Tyrone lodge, B. P. O. E.; a member of the Jr. U. O. A. M.; Brotherhood of Railway Conductors, and the Pennsylvania Railroad Relief association. Funeral services will be held at the home on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, conduced by the Rev. Frank T. Cady, pastor of the Trinity Episcopal church. The body will then be taken to Philipsburg, PA, where burial will be made. Altoona Tribune, Monday, January 16, 1928, page 14
