Note: w Speardon, 138 Chestnut street, Lewistown, Tuesday morning, August 19, 1941 at 3:30 o’clock after a long illness. She had been living in Lewistown the past twelve years since the death of her husband. She was aged 85 years, 3 months and 26 days. Deceased was born April 23, 1856 in Big Valley near Belleville and was the daughter of Peter Nooman, a pioneer. She was united in marriage with Peter Hoffman and to the union 13 children were born. The father passed away twelve years ago. There are but three children surviving: Flora D. Hoffman, Lewistown; Mrs. Andrew Speardon, Lewistown; James F. Hoffman, Orbisonia. Surviving are 37 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, making 106 direct descendants. Mrs. Ella Zerby, Allensville, Samuel Nooman, Belleville and Robert Nooman,of the Middle West, are also surviving sister and brothers. Mrs. Hoffman was a member of the Pentecostal Church.Funeral services will be held from the home of William Mitchell in Orbisoniawhen Rev. George Hansom of the Pentecostal Church will officiate.
