Price Retired construction engineer, World War I veteran Clair W. Price, 92, formerly of Orbisonia and Shade Gap but more recent ly of Columbia, S.C., died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1993, in the Lexington Medic al Center, Columbia, S.C. Born Dec. 7, 1900, in Shade Gap, he was a son of the late William and Bertha (Snyder) Price. He was married to the former Hope Ellen Cox, who di ed Sept. 11, 1981. Surviving are three children: Jane P. Kauffman and Fred C. Price, bo th of Columbia, S.C., and William E. Price, Cayce, S.C., and three grandch ildren. Also surviving is a brother, Carl Price, of Lewistown. Mr. Price was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of Mount Union Lodge 688, Free and Accepted Masons; Standi ng Stone Post 1754, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Huntingdon; and the Internat ional Engineers Union. During his life, Mr. Price was employed as a construction engineer, retiri ng in 1967.He was a veteran of World War I, having served with the U.S. Army in Fran ce and Germany. While oversees, he saw action in five battles. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, with the Rev. Bernard Wynn officiatin g. Interment will be in Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg R.D. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday, from 10 a.m. until the ho ur of services. A Masonic memorial service, conducted by Mount Union Lodge 688, will be he ld at 10:45 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
