a. Note:   Obituary - Merrill, Elvina Mae - Age 85, of Mt. Morris, died Wednesday, September, 21, 2005. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2005 at Miles Martin Funeral Home. Burial in Flint Memorial Park, Elvina's family will be present to receive friends on Friday from 12 - 4 and 6 - 9 p.m. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to teh Corcoran House, Boysville of Michigan or St. Mary's School Guardian Angel Fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Elvina was born September 24, 1919 in Flint the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry and Agnes (Ross) McClain. She and Dallas Merrill were married on September 23, 1939 in Mt. Morris. She loved Detroit Tigers, one of their biggest fans. She also enjoyed caring for others and crossword puzzles. Left to cherish her memory are son, Phillip and wife Brenda Merrill; 3 grandchildren, Cynthia Arkills, Paula and husband Robert Lossing, Ryan Merrill and fianc� Colleen Murany and daughter Carsyn; 6 great-grandchildren, Dacoda, Jordan, Tyler, Matthew, Sara and James; 2 sisters: Elvira Dickenson and Elva Jean Weatter both of Alaska, brother Elwood McClain of Otter Lake, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Elvina was preceded in death by her husband Dallas, her parents and special friend Pat Shanks.
