a. Note:   Obituary - Jefferson N. Willey, 66, of 230 S. Wright Street in Farwell, died March 22nd at Central Michigan Community Hospital in Mount Pleasant following a lengthy illness. He serced as an auctioneer, real estate, and insurance agent, and Surrey Township official for many years before retirment because of his health. He also served many years on the Clare County Soldiers and Sailors Relief Commission and the State of Michigan Veterans Trust Group for Clare County. On May 19th, 1927 he was united in marriage to May Rachel Mayo, who survives, along with three sons; Jefferson, Edward, and Joseph, all of Farwell; 13 grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Dora Arnold of Colorado, Mrs. Mary Hildebrandt, Mrs. Lillian WIlkinson, Mrs. Iris Brown, and MRs. Willie Ketchum, all of Farwell; three brothers, Kenneth Green of Battle Creek, Petie Green of Saginaw, and Alex Campeau of Alma. Funeral Services were held March 25th by the Coker Funeral Home of Farwell with Reverend William Raleigh officiating. Burial was in Surrey Township Cemetery. Published: Clare Sentinel
