Note:   Surname on headstone is Hildebrant (which he purchased several years before death), Military paper has name spelled Hilderbrant (signed by grandpa that way); Death certificate of his daughter Bettie has surname as Hildebrandt.~~ We called him Grandpa Charlie. Obituary - Hildebrandt, Charles H.- Age 91 of Farwell, died March 26, 1996 in Clare. He was born August 20, 1904, near Vestaburg. He married Mary Green in 1926, she preceded him in death on December 15, 1992. He moved to Farwell in 1965 after retiring from General Motors-Chevrolet in Flint. Mr. Hildebrandt is survived by 2 sons, Darrell of Antioch, CA, Bryan of Cadillac; daughter, Mrs. Bettie Doyle of Clare; 15 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 32 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 daughters, twins Mary and Marion, and Wanda Rodabaugh; 2 grandsons; 1 granddaughter; 5 brothers, Sherman, Francis, Sidney, Elmer and John; sister Leona Lee and Mandy Robart. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 1996 from the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home in Clare. Burial will be in the Surrey Twp. Cemetery in Farwell. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.
