a. Note:   Obituary - Mrs. H. McClain Passes on in Flint. Custer Mrs. Jesse Barrett received word Thursday of the death of Mrs. Hattie Barrett McClain who passed away at Flint Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. McClain underwent a major operation during the winter from which she never recovered. Hattie Barrett was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Barrett, settlers of South Custer, later moving to the village. Mr. McClain passed away several years ago. She is survived by six sons and one daughter, Claude, Harry, Verne, Leonard, Alfred, Howard and Mrs. Clarebelle Willouhr and several grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the Congregational church in Custer Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with burial in Custer cemetery.
