a. Note:   Obituary - Martie E. Barrett Mrs. Mertie E. Barrett, 87, 417 S. Sixth St., died Wednesday in General Hospital where she had been one day. She lived in Elkhart since 1910, coming from Ludington, Mich. She was born Oct. 27, 1887, in Oakland County, Mich. She married Harvey E. Barrett in Fern, Mich. on Dec. 27, 1905. He died Dec. 1, 1972 in Elkhart. She had been employed by Ziesel's and retired in 1953. Surviving are one son, Allen W., Elkhart; one daughter, Mrs. Cleo Deloe, Elkhart; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren. Friends may call after 7 tonight in the Hartzler-Guttermuth Funeral Home where services will be at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Kent Borgaard of Central Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery. She was a past member of Order of Eastern Star, Starlight Chapter, and a member of the church. Published: Elkhart Truth 1 May 1975 Page 37
