Note: Death Notice: ALLEN W. BARRETT, 84, of Elkhart, died at 5:45 a.m. Monday (April 7, 2008) in Elkhart General Hospital. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to Friday's 11 a.m. funeral service at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, 403 W. Franklin St., Elkhart. The Rev. Mike Wills will officiate. Cremation will take place, with burial in Rice Cemetery. Obituary - Allen W. Barrett August 20, 1923-April 7, 1923 ELKHART, Ind. - Allen W. Barrett, 84, died Monday at 5:45 a.m. at Elkhart General Hospital. He married Frieda Russel April 6, 1966, in Elkhart. She survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Sharon (Byron) Durkee, Santa Rosa, Calif., and Barbara (Mario) Cornel, San Gabriel, Calif.; and a son, David (Tina) Barrett, Colorado Springs, Colo. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, Elkhart.
