Note: His mother was named Dulcina ? she was born between 1812/1830 in either Georgia or South Carolina His father may have been Martin Abner/Abney who is shown living in Heard Co., GA. in the 1850 census....However the names of his family do not match with the 1860 family..... 1860 Federal Census shows Dulcina, 45, as the head of the family....the name is spelled Abney....there is William 12 (b. abt. 1845 GA.), Mary 10 (b. abt 1849 GA.), James 6 (b. 1853 GA.) and Benjamin 1 (b.abt. 1858 GA.) they were living near Franklin, Heard, GA. 1870 Federal Census has them living in Ga. Mil. Dist. 788, Heard, GA. the name is now listed as Abner....with Sinia as the head....she was shown as 50 y/o and being born in S.C.....living with her are William(shown as being 20 and listed as a farmer), Josephine(Mary?), shown as being 16, James is shown as 13 and was a farm laborer, and Benjamin was 10 and was also a farm laborer Census shows a Sarah Wood (6) living next to the Abner's....she is the daughter of Columbus Wood.... 1880 Federal Census shows Ben as being 23 and living with his mother Cenie who is shown as being 54 and widowed....it also shows her as being born in Georgia....they were living in Dist. 693, Heard, GA. William is a farmer and is married to a Julia ? (b.abt. 1845 GA.), their children are Ida Lee (b. abt. 1868), Charlie M.(b. 1870), James R.(b. abt. 1873), Joel Heflin (b. abt. 1876), and Josaphine(b. abt. 1879) brother James(listed as Jim) is also living in the same area....He was a farmer and married to Mary ?(b. abt. 1860), they had two daughters Callie (b. abt. 1876) and Annie( b.abt 1878) Wife's name was Sarah Frances(Sallie) ? she was born in June 1865 in Georgia 1900 Fedral Census shows Ben's family living in Cooksville, Heard, GA. also living with him was Sallie's sister Mary, Ben was a farmer.... Still living in the area are William and James and their families 1910 the family is still living in Cooksville, Heard, GA.....Ada has been born and sister in law Mary has married a Thompson and had a daughter named Lena (b. abt 1905)....Ben is still farming....all of the family is listed as mulatto Nothing is found on Ben and Sallie after 1910
