Note: Arvie had lived in Oxford, AL.since 1942. She was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church for 35 years and First Baptist Church of Oxford in her ater years. She served on the Oxford Parks and Recreation Board, the Arts Council, the Oxford Senior Citizens Board and, the Oxford House Board. She was a RSVP volunteer with Meals on Wheels. She was instrumental in organizing the girl scouts in Oxford and in building the Girl Scout House. She was a member of the Azalea Garden Club and was inducted into the Alabama Masters Game Hall of Fame.
