Note: Survivors include five children, Steve Shannon Smith, Shelly Smith and Melina Smith Meserve, all of Anniston, and Tammy Aldridge and Kim Krumm, both of Mobile; his mother, Mavis Smith of Oxford; four sisters, Louise Baker, Barbara Grissom and Rhonda Smith, all of Oxford, and Sandra Winningham of Alexandria; four brothers, Harold Smith of Centre, and Eddie Smith, Ricky Smith and Brian Smith, all of Oxford; and nine grandchildren, Mitchell Krum, Joey Krum, Katly Adlridge, Heather Aldridge, Stephanie Aldridge, Joyce Aldridge, Josh Erwin, Meagan Spence and Cassidy Smith.
Pallbearers will be Jason Smith, Michael Nelson, Eddie Smith Jr., E. Jay Smith, Donald Graessle and Todd Baker.
Mr. Smith, a lifelong Calhoun county resident, was a member of Hopeful Baptist Church. A Viet-nam veteran, he was a member of Disabled American Veterans. He was preceded in death by his father, Alex Liston Smith; and a brother, Bruce Smith.
