Notes
a. Continued:   The Blacks are traced in John O'Hart's "Irish Pedigrees or The Originand Stem of the Irish Nation, " back through the House of Heremon to Milesius of Spain to Adam. This particular branch of the Black family were French Huguenots named "LeNoir," who migrated to Ireland from France to escape religious persecution under the Acts and Ordinances of Subscription of Charles I of England in 1642. They became naturalized and had their French name anglicized to Black. After the execution of Charles I in January 1639, the Blacks became soldiers under Cromwell and they were among the Cromwellian Troopers who were disbanded in the County of Sligo in the northwestern part of Ireland on June 3, 1652. Shortly after that time these Blacks migrated to Scotland where as members of the Black Family they were aSept of Clan Gregor (The Clan MacGregor). King James II of England and V II of Scotland, who died September 6, 1701, and was the son of Charles I and Henrietta Maria, sent the Blacks to Ireland from Scotland in the 17th century where we first begin with James Black the Wool Merchant (James No. 1) <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Irish Records Extraction Database Record's Name: James Black Sex: Male Marriage: 1724 Marriage Place: Saintfield, County Down, Northern Ireland Spouse: Elizabeth Dunom Name: James Black Sex: Male Marriage: 05 February 1723 Marriage Place: Saul Parish, Downpatrick, County Down, Northern Ireland Spouse: Jane Neill Name: James Black Sex: Male Marriage: 18 October 1733 Marriage Place: Saul Parish, Downpatrick, County Down, Northern Ireland Spouse: Eliza Moore Name: John Black Sex: Male Marriage: 22 December 1724 Marriage Place: Saul Parish, Downpatrick, County Down, Northern Ireland Spouse: Ann West Name: Joseph Black Sex: Male Marriage: 1799 Marriage Place: Dromore, County Down, Northern Ireland Spouse: Margaret Simms [dzdelphine.FTW] William Keith Fisher, FROM VIRGINIA TO OHIO TO DELAWARE COUNTY, INDIAN A: The Stafford Families, the Black Families et al., The Ancestors and Descendants of Thoma s Jefferson Mitchell and Amanda Edgington; 1716-1991; Columbus, OH, privately published, 1991 ; p 46; Clark Co Public Library, Springfield, OH.
