Upon graduation from college he joined his father S. O.Bailey in the family insurance and realestate business, named S.O.Bailey and Son Relaestate and Insurance. Later he joined with Bob Johnson to form the Johnson-Bailey and AssociatesInsurance Firm from which he retired in 1978.
He was an avid fly-fisherman and hunter.
He served with the Army from 1943 -45, during the Second World War in Africa and Italy, as a sargeant assingend to a medical unit concerned with infectious diseases.
