OBITUARY NOTICE: Glenn , Lawrence A former Montgomery resident died in Wayne Michigan Thurs, March19,1964 after a brief illness. He leaves a wife, Mrs. Jeanette Glennand four children, Tiffney Ann, Patricia Lynn, Pamela Jean and Steven Allen. He also has a sister, Mrs. Isabelle Keener of Mountain Creek AL. Funeral services were held and directed by White ChapelFuneral Homewith Dr. Louis Armstrong officiating . Burial will be in Memorial Heights Cemetery. Pallbearers were Milton Peel, CarlosShoults, EarlMills, Jack Mills, Dewey and Kendrick Pouncey. Copy on file. ************* As a Gunner's Mate 2nd Class he was responsible for loading the guns.While he was reloading the big guns on the battleship somehoworanother he pulled the air out of the chamber too soon and the cartridge fell out and apparently broke his knee . He came to the next day but had no recollection of the accident. This effectively ended his naval career. He would later work for the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan.
