Obituary, Greenville Advocate, Butler County, Alabama In Memory - On Monday, February 26th, at 7:00 o'clock a.m., thesweetspirit of Mr. W. C. Pouncey winged it flight back to the God who gave it.Bro. Pouncey lived his life in Butler County, except for 2 years spentinConecuh. He was 59 years old. He was loved and respected by his familyandfriends. Bro Pouncey was ill some 9 days with pneumonia. All was donethatloving hands and tender care could do, but to no avail. God knew best, andcalledhim home to be ever with the blest, where there will be no more suffering, nomo heartaches, nor good byes. Bro Pouncey was a great believerinholiness. He talked and testified holiness wherever he went and to whomeverhewaswith. He was wonderfully saved and sanctified. He shouted and sang praisestoGod. While confined to his bed, he told his companion and children hewasgoing to Heaven and he wanted their family to be unbroken in Heaven. Ohthanksbe to God for testimony like that. We can truly say of Bro. PounceylikePaul of old: "He has fought a good fight, kept the faith, and has finishedhis course," and we believe a crown of righteousness is laid up inglory. It seems as if we can hear Bro. Pouncey say: "Weep not for me, dearwifeand children, for I will be waiting for thee in glory." The funeral was held at the Friendship Holiness Church Tuesday at 3pm. The house was overflowing with relatives and friends to pay theirlastrespects to Bro. Pouncey. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev.LevyPressley, the Rev. I N Jordan, the Rev.
