a. Note:   Summaries of land transactions involving T. A. Allen and wife Julia Ann Murff Allen-1869 to 1886
  Book Y. Deed of Record, dated Feb. 14, 1881, T. A. Allen and H. H. Dickerson agree to new boundary lines concerning 10 acres of a 190 acre tract, that they both claim to own. Dickerson is allowed to pay T.A. Allen $10.00 to keep his half of a house that sits on the disputed line, and agrees to allow all crops to be harvested that have already been planted, and to move the house.
  In March 24, 1863, Book K, page 227-228- Cornelious Murff purchased 320 acres of land from WM.Crunk. Cornelious Murff died in May of 1865, and the land was inherited in equal portions by the
 surviving 9 children (3 having died before Cornelious), On March 16, 1883, Sarah Elizabeth Murff and Husband T. J. Mitchell, Amanda Parilla Murff and husband R. J. Turner, Julia Ann Murff and husband T.A. Allen, and their brother, Thomas A. Murff, each sold their portion of the 320 acres to J. J. Starnes for $180.00 cash in hand. Transaction recorded in Book 30, pages 345-347,filed Oct. 11, 1883.
  In 1884, Julia buys land from her husband T. A. Allen for $200.00 cash, recorded in Book 31, page 23-24. This land is passed on to her daughters at her death.
  On Dec. 16, 1886, T. A. Allen buys land on 'the waters of Cedar Creek, 13 miles NW of Canton, from
 Robert Ratliff and wife Sarah Ratliff, heirs of James Grisham, deceased. The land is listed as their 1/7th interest, including a creek, and is sold to T.A. for $100.00. Deed Book 50, page 143-146.
  On Dec. 13, 1889, Deed Book 41, page 63 &64- T. A. Allen sells and unspecified amount of acres to his
 son Guy Allen for $55.00 cash.
  On Oct. 25, 1892, T. A. Allen buys another 1/7th interest of land from another Grisham heir, W. L. Burks of Mills Co. for $67.50, paid in $37.50 cash and a note for the same plus 10% interest, due Oct. 1893.
 Deed Book 50, page 145-146.
  On Dec. 12, 1893, T. A. Allen buys an outstanding Lein on the land owned by Gerthy Allen Nalls, inherited from her mother Julia, for the sum of $200.00, half in cash, half in a new Lein due Jan. 14, 1895. Deed Book 56, page 500-502. The wording specifically states "all her interest in the estate of her deceased mother, consisting of all land and personal property of which Julia Allen died, seized of, or entitled to , by reason of her being the wife of T. A. Allen".
  On Jan . 15, 1894, Fay Allen Draughon and husband Robert Luther Draughon, and Gerthy Allen Nalls and husband J. W. Nalls, sell back 60 acre parcels inherited from their mother Julia, for $100.00 each, to their father T.A.Allen. Deed Book 49. pages 575-577.
  On Dec. 5, 1894, T. A. Allen and wife MALVINIA D. GRISHAM-ALLEN, sell 182and 8/10ths acres of land to Z. Miller, for $639.80 cash. Deed Book 50, page 124-125.
  On Feb. 2, 1895, T. A. Allen pays off a promissory note to W. L. Burkes, giving him clear title to the land, listed as"one undivided one seventh interest in the Scurry Scroggings 320 acre survey of land
 in VAN ZANDT & KAUFMAN COUNTIES" Deed Book 51, page 383.
  On Oct. 25, 1898, T. A. Allen buys 62 1/2 acres of land from H. F. Goodnight, for $625.00, paid in $125.00 cash and 4 notes for $125.00 each plus 10% interest, due Oct. 1st. 1899, 1900, 1901 & 1902.
 The land being part of the original W. A. Allen survey, of Dec. 7th. 1842. Deed Book 60, pages 138-139.
  On March 8, 1906, T.A. Allen and new wife Sarah Letha Allen sell 37 & 8/10ths acres of the W.A.Allen original survey #17, to Lively and Stanford Co. for $750.00, land adjoins another 37 & 8/10th acres
 recently partitioned off for Malvinia D. Allen. Deed Book 82, pages 179 -180.
  On April 30, 1906- T. A. Allen and wife Letha Allen, sell 61 and 1/10th acres of the original W.A. Allen survey of land to Lively and Stanford for $750.00 cash, and 256 acres of the Goodnight
 survey to I. H. Spikes in lieu of payment of a loan in the amount of $2,100.00 and $1,300.00 due to H. F. Goodnight, for notes they are unable to pay. Deed Book 81, pages 423-425.
  On April 30,1906, T.A. & Letha Sell Malvinia's 37 8/10 acres to Wynne & Blanks for $10.00.
 Thomas Allen is buried in Colfax Cem., Van Zandt Co., TX.
