a. Note:   According to Murff family history, Julia Ann Murff-Allen died Jan. 13, 1886, 13 days after the birth of her daughter, named Julia Ann (Pink) Allen. Thomas Allen built her coffin himself, but the ground was too frozen to bury her and they had to wait for the 1st thaw. When the ground was soft enough, they brought the coffin from the barn, someone slipped and the lid to the coffin was broken. The family thought young Thomas would go mad because of it.
  On the 18th day of October, 1884, Julia Murff Allen bought land in her name from her husband T.A.Allen.,
 The transaction is recorded in the Deeds of Records Book 31, page 23 & 24, Van Zandt Co., TX
 and is listed as 'a part of a 320 acre survey in the name of W.A.Allen, the deed mentions 74 and 1/4 acres together with all the improvements thereon. She paid her husband $200.00 cash of her own money for the land. This appears to be part of the estate she left to her daughters upon her death .
  Julia Murff Allen is buried in Cedar Grove Cem., Kaufman Co., TX with her infant children who died early, and her son Guy Allen who died in his early 20's. The plot is next to her father & mother.
  Thomas Allen and Julia Murff had 10 children that we know of; Julia died in 1886, and by 1903 all but 2 of her children were also deceased. Ella lived until about 1945, that's the last accounting of her, and the baby Julia Ann 'Pink' lived until 1962.
