a. Note:   The 1860 Greensburg, St. Helena Parish, LA Census shows Sheppard Brown Draughon (S.B.) and wife Nancy Allen, living in household 367/367, with children living in household 368/368
 The 1850 Census , Greenburg, St. Helena Parish, LA spells the surname DRAUGHN. His children on
 later census' spelled the name DRAUGHN-DRAUGHAN-DRAUGHON. His sons Rufus L. and Robert L.
 both used the initials R.L. and different dates of age and last name spelling on different census'.
 S. B. Draughon's wife Nancy Allen died in 1864., and there is a marriage record on file for 1865 where he remarried to Laura Day. Milliard was the last child born to him, he had no children with his 2nd wife.
 Sheppard Brown Draughon was a court official for many years; his name is on many documents, from land deeds to wills and judgements.
  Sheppard Draughon and Nancy had 4 sons and 3 daughters listed on census'. The 3 oldest sons all
 fought in the Civil War. Millard, born about 1851, was too young.
