a. Note:   Note: After the death of John's grandmother Jane Tisdale, he decided to leave Sumter County, SC and join some relatives already living in Louisiana. His Uncle Pleasant Tisdale, was making the trip with him as far as Perry County, MS. The two families reached the town of Augusta, Perry County, MS 1 Mar 1818. John decided to stop over in Perry County and raise one crop before going on to LA They never made it to Louisiana. He died 3 Nov 1818 in Perry County, MS and is buried there. His widow married Col. Griffen H. Holloman.
