Note: There is duplicative evidence as to whether this was Ann Donnelley or Ann Logan. I have decided that Ann was actually Ann Donnelley and that her mother was Ann Logan. Here's my thinking. Although Ann's death record shows her maiden name as Logan and her mother’s maiden name as Donnelly, all other records, including records for the baptism of each her children list Ann's maiden name as Donnelly. (See e.g. Robert Glenn, Joseph Glenn and Thomas Glenn baptism records.) In light of that, I have assumed that it was correct when recorded by Ann and Thomas themselves in the church records on the birth of their children, but accidentally switched when recorded by one of their children on Ann's death. I find it hard to believe that they would get it wrong so many times in a row but that their child would have it correct on her death. The Godfather for Ellen Glynn is also a James Donnelley, who was presumably Ann's father or brother. Then again, Thomas Jr lists his mother as Ann Logan in his application for debt relief in 1904 so there is a chance that Logan is correct, although again I think it's more likely that the children were mixed up later in life and not that the parents got it wrong. (It was John Glen, a different son, who listed her maiden name as Logan on her death certificate.) For these reasons, in my records, I have decided to stick with Donnelley as her name and Logan as her mother’s name. It’s interesting to note that Margaret Ann Rowe said her mother had always said they were from County Sligo. If Ann was a Donnelley and we know her father was James, in the 1858 Griffith's Valuation in Ireland it shows: Tenant Family Name 1 DONNELLY Forename 1 JAMES Landlord Family Name 2 KIRKWOOD Forename 2 TOBIAS Prefix COL Location County SLIGO Barony LEYNY Union SLIGO Parish BALLYSADARE Townland CORHAWNAGH Place Name CORHAWNAGH Place Type TOWNLAND Publication Details Position on Page 29 Printing Date 1858 Act 15&16 Sheet Number 20 Map Reference 4
