a. Note:   According to a letter from his niece, Sonja Anaes, Einar was born on New Years day (shortly after midnight) on January 1, 1913. The midwife mistakenly recorded 1914 and that is his birthday on all official records. According to Sonja, her parents and Einar himself told her this.
