Note: Head Surgeon in the U.S. Army hospital on the Mexican border. Listed as living in Albany, Oregon in the 1923 Petition for Probate of Will and Letters Testamentary of Mina Tucker. He was also a Presbyterian minister, a member of the Oregon State Legislature, a lawyer, professional baseball player, carpenter & cattle rancher. According to a descendant, he was born in 1875. Per the 1880 Census for Watseka, he was born in 1874. Per his mother's obituary, she lived in Ashmore Township, IL until moving to Watseka in 1876 making the place of his birth questionable. Per his obituary, he was born April 29, 1876. It's also worth noting that if his birthdate was correct in the obituary, but if the year was off and 1875 was correct, I know that my great grandmother was born 10 months and 2 weeks later. Not impossible but awfully "eager". :) Thus, all we can say for certain is that he was born between 1874-1876 and in Illinois but anything else is really a guess.
