Note: Her baptismal sponsors were William and Catherine Dolan. Kittie Casey was the school teacher in the one room schoolhouse in town. It was here that she met her future husband, Herbert Boyden, when he was one of her students. According to family legend, after Herbert graduated he proposed. I maintain an autograph book that had belonged to Kittie Casey. To my knowledge, there were no Boydens in the area of Pharsalia, Preston, Plymouth other than our relatives in the late 1800s. There was definitely no "Stella" other than possibly Estella Coy Boyden (Zanoni's wife and Herbert's mother). In Kitty Casey's autograph book, there is an autograph that reads: "Your friendStella Boyden Plymouth. N.Y July 6, 1888" This was one day after Estella's 33rd birthday, just under 3 years before Estella's death and almost 7 years before Kittie married Herbert Boyden. So it sounds like Kittie ended up marrying her deceased friend's son! From the May 2, 1945 edition of a Binghampton, NY newspaper.
