Notes
a. Note:   Many members of this family are shown as living together in the 1860 census and it is not entirely clear as to the relationships. I have provided for Elizabeth from the 1860 census as William's wife, and William and John as his children. There is a chance that Elizabeth was married to William's brother Robert and that they were his children. Because Elizabeth was closer in age to William, because his first son was William, and because there was a Robert who entered the civil war, I suspect that Elizabeth was married to William. William was in the 147th PA Regiment during the Civil War. He was wounded at Antietam and killed (listed as missing in official records) at the Battle of Chancellorsville.
