a. Note:   His family moved to Holland in 1880 and he was "dedicated" in Amsterdam in January, 1901. Immediately thereafter, he moved to Bergen. According to Raphael Nir, Moritz's surname was originally Orchudesch but he changed it to Geller because it was difficult to pronounce in Norwegian. Raphael was told this personally by Moritz's daughter Clara. In the Register: Citizenship allocations 1888-1921 he is Moses Michel Geller (Geller, Moritz) Orchudesch.
