Notes
a. Note:   According to Professor Knut S. Vikør (knut.vikor@smi.uib.no), "Mikkel Olavson is listed with the name Vikør [Vikøy], so apparently used that. He was in 1828 married to Guro Oddmundsdtr. Tveit 1802-62, and took over Fletena from his father. It was apparently a smallish plot, he had 5 cows and a few sheep, so he worked as sailor (no doubt local), fisherman, and made fish-nets. This is consistent with information from Odd Braathun. Other spellings of this last name include Vikør,Vikøy, Vikøren, Wigør, and Wigøren. In a letter from Sonja Anaes, she also said she thought he was Mikkel Flaeten. She also said that Mikjell and his wife were born in Norheimsund. Other sources say Vikøy but I suspect these are the same area. I have seen other references to his name as Mikjell Flaeten.
