Note: Hazleton Standard Speaker; Friday, September 28, 1962: Mrs. Gwenllian Miller, a native of this city, died Wednesday at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Howard Hussey, Tarboro, North Carolina. Her parents were the late William and Margaret (Byron) Davies. The family resided for many years at 342 East Broad street. She was a member of Mayflower Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, and of the First Presbyterian Church, of this city. She was a charter member and past president of the Hazleton State General Hospital Auxiliary, and a former secretary of the Hazleton Chapter, American Red Cross. Long active in Girl Scout work, while living here she was awarded a 25-year service pin. Her husband, James S. Miller, died in 1959. The following children survive: Margaret, wife of Howard Bock, Durham, N.C.; Jean, wife of Dr. Hussey, with whom she lived in Tarboro, N.C.; Jacqueline, wife of James Robins, Durham, N.C., and James S. Miller, Hackettstown, N.J. There are 15 grandchildren. The body was brought to this city, and the funeral will be held from Bachman Bros. Funeral Home on Saturday at 11 a.m. Rev. Frederick B. Crane, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, will conduct the services. Interment will be in the Vine Street Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening.
