13. Title:   Death Certificate of Zanoni O. Boyden

Notes
a. Note:   Per his obituary, one sister married Burdette Franklin of Pharsalia and one married Edward Steward of Ulton, Greene County. Zanoni O. Boyden was born on December 20, 1847 in Plymouth, New York. He married Estella Coy on March 13, 1872 and later married Esther Purdy. I have seen references to his having two children with Esther – a Leon Boyden and Abbie Boyden (who married a Satterlee) but they are not listed in his obituary and I have not found any additional information about them in any records and think that may be an error.) The 1902 Chenango Co. Directory lists “BOYLAN [sic], Zanoni, (mailing addr. Norwich) lived on road 58, dairy w/10 cows, farmer on 157 acres”. He died on February 2, 1911 in Plymouth, New York. The cause of death was “paralytic shock”. A minister from the Preston M. E. Church officiated at his burial on February 5, 1911 in East Pharsalia Cemetery. According to his obituary, he was a “practical and diligent farmer [who] by economy had accumulated a good property…[h]e provided abundantly for his family and his ear was ever open to the cry of the needy and his hand ever ready to help the distressed.”
