Born in Fredericton, the son of the late James and Emily Tanner, he had lived in Halifax for 60 years, and had been employed by Moirs Limited for the past 49 years. Surviving are his wife, Rita, two daughters, Joyce (Mrs. James Forsythe) and Sharon, both at home; four brothers, James of Toronto; John, Ernest and Fred, all of Halifax; four sisters, Helena (Mrs. Carl Liljeros), Los Angeles; Anne (Mrs. William Naugler), Kathleen (Mrs. Ralph Barrett) and Christine (Mrs. William Stevenson), all of Halifax. The body is at the Halifax Funeral Home. following 9 a.m. mass in St. Theresa's Church on Wednesday, interment will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Sackville (Obit on Oct.25, on p.19, on reel 7559)
