Note: TANNER, Mary Margaret "Rita" - 95, Halifax, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2004, in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Gilfoy. She was a devout member of St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, charter member of the C.W.L. and a senior member of the Children of Mary. She was also a long-standing member of the Altar Society. Rita was a retired employee of Sears Co. Ltd. and was a long-time member of the Halifax Senior Citizens Club. She is survived by her sister, Evelyn "Rose" Roma; daughters, Joyce Forsythe, Sharon Tanner; grandson, Michael Forsythe (wife Meena); great-granddaughter, Marika. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward "Pete" Tanner. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd. Funeral mass will be 9 a.m. Thursday in St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, North Street.
