Note:   BARRETT, Kathleen C. "Kitty" - 94, Halifax, long-time resident of Almon Street, Halifax, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, in Northwood Centre where she had resided for the last 12 years. Kitty was born on the 11th day of the 11th month of 1912, the 11th of 13 children born to the late James and Emilie (Myshrall) Tanner. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph, in 1957; brothers, James, William, John, Thomas "Pete", Ernest, Frederick and in infancy Walter and Verdun; sisters, Anne (William) Naugler, Norah (Frank) Dickinson, Helene, Christina (William) Stevenson and Mary. Kitty is survived by daughters, Judith (Jerry) Barnes and Diane Barrett; grandson, Ralph Barnes, all of Halifax, and granddaughter, April-Lynne Barnes, Moncton. Grateful thanks is offered to the wonderfully supportive staff of Northwood and especially the staff of 1 Centre (both past and current), for the extraordinary love, care and many kindnesses that have been given to Kitty over the past 12 years. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral mass will be in St. Agnes Church, 6903 Mumford Rd., on Monday, February 19, at 10 a.m. A reception will follow in the parish hall. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
