Note: HOLLAND, Paul Joseph ? 67, Halifax, died March 27, 1997 at home. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late George and Veronica (Hartry) Holland. From 1966, he was a lifelong member of Armdale Yacht Club. He was in the Merchant Navy in the 1950?s and then became a member of the Merchant Navy Association. He was founding secretary treasurer of the Credit Granters Association of Halifax / Dartmouth; founder and CEO of the Metropolitan Credit Services Association Ltd. Since 1963; general manager of Twin Cities Credit Bureau from 1954-1959, and general manager of G.B. Murphy?s Jewellers from 1959-19663. Surviving are his wife, the former Geraldine Ryan; sons, Greg and wife Karen, Lower Sackville; Richard and wife Daphne, Dartmouth; daughter Paulette and husband Alan Bickle, Halifax; brothers, Bernard and Cecil, Shad Bay; Christopher, Lower Sackville; Jerome, Halifax; Gerard, Toronto; sister, Elizabeth (Mrs. Joe Blum),Shad Bay; grandchildren, Cindy Bickle, Ashely, Aaron, Vanessa and Samantha Holland; great-grandchildren Tyler Bickle. He was predeceased by sister Mary Theresa (Mrs. Jim Collier). Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, funeral 1 a.m. Wednesday, both in T.K. Barnard Funeral Home, 3460 Dutch Village Rd., Halifax. Eulogy and readings will be performed by son Richard. Interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
